On from Copenhagen

Neither of us have much energy to post, so this'll be a short one.

Yesterday we went to the Danish Modern Art museum and saw some great (and some scary) art, the Danish Design Center to admire all sorts of (surprise) Danish design, then finally to Tivoli, the local amusement park where we wandered around, ate some junk food, and enjoyed hearing the delighted screams from the rides. My Flickr stream now includes some shots from an art project at the Design Center that used a packaged goods metaphor to call attention to things were were losing with our non-metaphoric packaged goods world. And in contrast, a life-size cow statue in Tivoli with an enormous hot dog, complete with trimmings, as part of its back. The first link takes you to the current spot in the vacation stream or you can click here to jump to the start.

This morning we checked out of our Copehnagen hotel, caught a bus to the train station, and then a train North into Sweden to Gothenburg (or Goteborg as it's written in Swedish, although our guide book says it's pronounced "Yur-te-borry" which instills terror at even trying to say anything here in Swedish). Tomorrow we're heading west into Oslo for a few days. Our plan is to head west again to the fjords after that, then cut back east across Norway and Sweden to Stockholm at the end of our trip. We still have a few days in there unplanned so we'll figure it out as we go.
