July 4th Fireworks

Last week I found out that I had won a little lottery at work that let me bring a few people to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the Adobe courtyard at work. I was allowed to bring a few people, so Kerrie and I invited our friends Kelly and Rob to watch the show with us. It was a spectacular display--one of the best any of us had ever seen. And I got to learn intuitively what I knew logically: fireworks are hard to photograph well. A few of my more successful attempts are below. Hey, how come you didn't invite your mother-in-law up to watch the fireworks???? I absolutely LOVE fireworks.

Love,

Great shots!!

I assume you had a tripod. What were the exposure times?

My attempts are sadly inferior.
