Goings On
All the little things that are going on here have now added up to enough for updating the blog.
It's leaning toward summer. The sky is blue right now and the only clouds are light and fluffy, not gray and ominous. There are delicious local strawberries and cherries available at stores and farmers' markets, which makes me very, very happy. And confirms that we should never move away from Seattle.
We spent June 4-5 at Mindy's house. Hart and I took the girls bowling and had a fantastic time. Mindy and I forced Hart into seeing the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants with us. The movie was good (nowhere close to as good as the books), but the best part was the group of teen girls in the row in front of us. After they all gasped simultaneously when two characters kissed on screen, Hart leaned over to me and said, "Oh, god. I could do an ethnography."
Some of the work downstairs is being redone, so we're back to living in the office. The floor was touched up yesterday and we've had two rounds of oil-based paint put on the cabinets and trim. The smell is horrible, but it looks great. The architect and contractor are going back and forth on the height of the fireplace. After that's resolved, the stone will be replaced and we'll be good to go.
Hart's been traveling a lot for work. I've been working on a new blog about migraine and chronic daily headache. I'll share the URL when it is active, which should be this weekend.
I've started going to yoga classes again. Today's the restorative class, where we get into comfortable positions and stay in each one for 10 minutes. I can't wait.
The sun and the weeds beckon.
