Google Maps

Google has a beta out of its new map service, aptly named Google Maps. You can check it out at maps.google.com. If you are a mapquest user, you owe it to yourself to check out this new take on mapping. Once again Google takes the other web-based application developers (hotmail, yahoo) to school. Not only can you click and drag to scroll around, but you can do location-based searches right on the map. This is a map of the Thai restaurants near my work.

Bonus fun fact: the last example map search on Google's web site is a route from downtown Seattle to our zip code. The route goes within six blocks of our house.
