Escape!

Well, my email autoresponder is on, my voicemail message says I'm away, and there's a note on my office door. I finished up some lose ends at work and bid adieu to the office for 8 weeks. I guess it's to be expected that it hasn't sunk in that I won't be going to work next Monday, or the Monday after, or the Monday after, or the...

We'll tie up the rest of the travel loose ends this weekend, getting everything packed up and the last of our travel items purchased. Then we'll head for the airport at the crack of pre-dawn on Monday morning. Wooo! I wonder how long it will be before I stop thinking about work, or maybe forget that I even have a job? Stay tuned!

Well with maternity leave, it stopped thinking of work immediately. Birth has that effect on the conscious mind--it turns everything normal inside out. Your trip is huge, but don't know if it's akin to birth.

When I resigned from job it took me, if i'm being completely honest, about three months to shake the routine. I don't think that's healthy, but i feel like a million bucks now.

I think it will take about 10 days for you to feel your groove, but somewhere around week five or six you'll feel a little strange--accustomed to the freedom, glowing in the luxury of time, but a little displaced.

Regardless have a wonderful time.

I'm not anonymous, just didn't feel like signing in. It's Carey.

We love you guys, wish we could be there with you.
