Gear acquisition (nearly) complete

Kerrie had to make about 13 trips to various outdoor stores (I got off easy and only made about 6), but we finally have the majority of the gear we need for our trip. We are making a best effort to pack as light as possible, so after all those trips it still feels like we're being cheated when the result of all that effort packs easily into a couple of small carry-on bags. We're best to think in terms of number of benefits, not number of items - our new clothes have sunscreen, insect repellent, stain resistance, temperature regulation, moisture wicking, breathability, venting and waterproofing, not to mention all the other advantages the companies' marketing teams have yet to bestow.
